#006 In this episode of the LDDC, Justin and I deep dive into mental health and our experiences in bettering our mental wellness. Like most conversations in person, it took us time to warm up to the topic, but once it was discussed, it went well. Useful links on some of the topics discussed:
- Australian Men’s Mental Health Forum: https://www.amhf.org.au/men_s_health_week_australia A good webpage to understand the facts behind why Men are struggling and what we can do to turn that around.
- https://www.healthdirect.gov.au/mens-mental-health – this webpage details some really key details on mental health, especially providing support contacts for those who may be unsure of where to start.
- The research paper indicates that physical exercise is up to 1.5x better than counselling or leading medications. Do your research, but we’ve both talked about how effective the gym has been for us. It can be any form of physical exercise.
- Andrew Huberman produces the Huberman Lab podcast, which we both have mentioned a few times. There are a few really insightful episodes into health and wellness in here, especially the impact of recent research into the positive effects of guided pscycedelics use.
